Strong Heart Chewable is a branded generic medicine which helps to prevent canine heartworm disease, and treats and controls roundworms and hookworms, too.

Strong Heart Chewable used monthly as directed can help prevent heartworm infection in your dog and can help your dog avoid the risk, stress, and long periods of confinement that go along with treatment for canine heartworm disease.

Strong Heart Chewable is made with real beef, dogs love the taste.

Strong Heart Chewable is a convenient, easy-to-give Chewable that most dogs will eat right out of your hand.

How to use

The product can be offered to the dog by hand. Alternatively, it may be added intact to a small amount of dog food. The chewable should be administered in a manner that encourages the dog to chew, rather than to swallow without chewing. Chewable may be broken into pieces and fed to dogs that normally swallow treats whole.

Strong Heart Chewable should be given at monthly intervals during the period of the year when mosquitoes (vectors), potentially carrying infective heartworm larvae, are active. The initial dose must be given within a month (30 days) after the dogs first exposure to mosquitoes. The final dose must be given within a month (30 days) after the dogs last exposure to mosquitoes.

Drug Class and Mechanism

Strong Heart Chewable (IVERMECTINE & PYRANTEL) Ingredients

Ivermectin is used as a heartworm preventive. Ivermectin (22, 23-dihydroavermectin B1a + 22, 23-dihydroavermectin B1b) is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic medication.
Pyrantel pamoate are also used for the treatment and control of roundworms and hookworms. Pyrantel pamoate acts as a depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent, thereby causing sudden contraction, followed by paralysis, of the helminths. This has the result of causing the worm to "lose its grip" on the intestinal wall and be passed out of the system by natural process.

Missed Dose

If a dose of Strong Heart Chewable is missed, make your dog take it as soon as possible. Do not double doses.

Storage

Store Strong Heart Chewable below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Strong Heart Chewable out of the reach of children and away from pets.
